Extreme Wind ("we", "us") provides live wind and wave data, forecasts and alarms for Israel, through the website at www.extremeapp.app, an installable web app, and the Extreme Wind App for Android and iOS. This policy covers all of them.
The service is operated by Extreme, Harduf St 2, Beit Yanai, Israel. Contact us at app@asabro.co.il.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your email address, and your name and profile picture if your provider supplies them. We store your user ID and email. We never receive your Google or Apple password.
Your settings. The spots you follow, your unit preferences, your language, and the wind alarms and forecast alerts you create, including the thresholds and the spots they watch.
Notification tokens. If you turn on alarms, we store a push token for that browser or device, along with the browser or device description your software reports. It lets us deliver a notification; it does not identify you personally.
Usage data. Pages you open, features you use, and technical details your browser sends automatically: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and timestamps. We use this to understand what people use and to find faults.
Error reports. When something breaks, we record the error, the page it happened on and the technical context around it.
Subscription records. If you subscribe to PRO, our payment provider handles your payment details. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record that your account has an active subscription, which plan, and when it renews or expires.
We do not collect your precise location. The service asks you to choose a spot; it does not track where you are.
Who we share it with
We use these providers, and share only what each one needs:
- Google Firebase - sign-in, database, push notification delivery and hosting. Processed in the European Union.
- Sentry - error reporting. Processed in Germany.
- PostHog - product analytics: which screens and features get used. Processed in the United States.
- Polar - subscription payments and billing. Processed in the United States.
- Resend - transactional email, and delivery status for the messages we send you. Processed in the United States.
- Data sources - Holfuy, Windguru, Tomorrow.io, the Israel Meteorological Service and Open-Meteo. We fetch weather data from these; we do not send them anything about you.
Some of these providers are outside Israel and the European Economic Area. Where your data is transferred to them, that transfer relies on the provider's own standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
Your account and settings stay until you delete your account. Push tokens are removed when they stop working or when you turn notifications off. Analytics and error reports are kept for the retention period configured with each provider, and no longer than we need them to understand usage and fix faults. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings, or at https://www.extremeapp.app/delete-account, which works in any browser whether or not you still have the app installed. We ask you to sign in again first, so that nobody else can delete your account from a device you left open.
Deleting removes your profile and email address, your settings and preferences, your wind alarms and forecast alerts, and the notification tokens for your devices. It cannot be undone.
Reports you posted stay visible, so that other riders keep their history and the votes on those reports, but your name and email address are removed from them and nothing on them points back to you.
If you have an active PRO subscription, cancel it before deleting your account - otherwise billing would continue with no account to cancel it against.
You can also write to app@asabro.co.il and we will delete it for you.
Your other choices
You can turn notifications off at any time, in the app or in your browser or device settings. You can turn off "Share usage data" in Settings, which stops the analytics and the crash and error reports described above, on that device. The app keeps working exactly the same either way. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for a copy, by writing to app@asabro.co.il.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal bases are performance of a contract for your account and subscription, and legitimate interests for analytics and error reporting.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, and sign-in is handled by Google and Apple rather than by passwords we store. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
